Sophia Tran,
Clinical Psychologist & Certified Schema Therapist
B. Psych (Honours), M. Psych (Clinical)
Sophia is a Vietnamese-Australian Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Psychology Board of Australia. She is also an International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) Certified Schema Therapist. She is dedicated to providing a warm and supportive environment where clients feel safe to explore the complexities of their experience, deepen their understanding of themselves, and identify new approaches to handling life’s challenges.
Her approach to therapy is collaborative and integrative, and she tailors treatment to each client’s needs and goals. Sophia primarily draws from evidence-based psychological approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, attachment-based approaches, and culturally responsive practice.
Sophia has a special interest in attachment and relationship difficulties, anxiety, cultural and racial identity, and family of origin issues. Her work is grounded in the understanding that our early experiences, family dynamics, and cultural background can profoundly shape how we see ourselves and respond to the world. She is passionate about supporting clients to overcome self-limiting beliefs and longstanding patterns that no longer serve them, so that they can feel more connected and authentic in their lives.
Sophia established Clarity Clinical Psychology in Croydon, in Sydney’s inner west, before later transitioning the practice to telehealth. She is now based between Tokyo and Sydney.
